Unsung Community Heroes Sought by Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove
Organization is accepting nominations until June 15 for community service award to honor those who have positively and consistently contributed to Buffalo Grove.
The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove is actively seeking nominations for the 2012 Bill Reid Buffalo Grove Community Service Award.
The award is meant to highlight long-term, positive contributions
to the village by individuals or organizations.
It was created in honor of the late Bill Reid, who was known as ‘Mr. Buffalo Grove’ and served as a village trustee for many years. Mr. Reid was a charter member of the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove as well.

The Rotary Club is specifically looking for those whose contributions have served to enhance and improve ‘the spirit of the Buffalo Grove community’.
Nominations can be made for individuals, businesses or organizations who have achieved outstanding volunteer service that has had a substantial and long-term impact.

Nomination forms are available at Village Hall, and the deadline to submit them is June 15.
A written summary of the type of community service activities performed, letters of recommendation and any other documentation that supports the nomination should be included.
An additional ‘second’ of the nomination in the form of a letter also is required.
The winner or winners will be presented with a recognition plaque and a $500 contribution from the Rotary Club to a qualified 501(c)(3) organization of their choice.
A $500 contribution to the Rotary in the winner’s name will be made as well, in addition to their name being inscribed on an award recognition plaque displayed at Buffalo Grove Village Hall.
The presentation of the award will occur between July 1 and October 1 at a yet-to-be-determined community event.
