Vernon Area Library welcomes new adult department head

New Adult Services head Keith Barlog was previously at the Downers Grove Public Library.

The Vernon Area Library Public Library in Lincolnshire, Ill., is pleased to welcome a new Head of Adult Services, librarian Keith Barlog. 

Keith was previously an Adult and Teen Services Librarian at the Downers Grove Public Library. He holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Knox College.

“We are pleased to welcome Keith to our management team,” said Library Director Cynthia Fuerst. “His insight and experience will be valuable as we work to meet the challenges of an evolving 21st century library, including providing increased access to digital content, the creation of the library’s first Media Suite, and continued high-quality service offerings for adults and teens.”

Keith replaces former Head of Adult Services Laurel Vlcek, who retired in December after holding the position for 30 years.
