Six file to run for Vernon Area Library Board

Six candidates will vie for five seats on the Vernon Area Library board in the April 2013 election.

Six candidates have filed to run for five Vernon Area Public Library Board of Trustee seats in the April 2013 Consolidated Election.

The spring race for the Library Board is more complicated than usual. In addition to three six-year terms that are up for election, two partial-term seats will also appear on the ballot. The partial-term seats are the result of mid-term Trustee resignations in January and November of this year. Prospective candidates were required to declare which seat they were running for when they filed their Nominating Packets.

Running for a six-year, full-term seat are (in order of filing): Jonathan Passman of Buffalo Grove, George I. Goldstein of Lincolnshire, Edward B. Kogan of Vernon Hills, and William H. Apostolakis of Long Grove. There are four candidates for the three full-term seats up for election.
