Publishing insiders share inside scoop of today’s publishing world

Aspiring authors will discover today's publishing world at "10 Secrets to Getting Your Book Successfully Published," at Stevenson High School, on Monday, April 29 from 7-9 p.m.

Aspiring authors will discover an eye-opening overview of today’s competitive publishing environment at a free program hosted by the Vernon Area Public Library, “10 Secrets to Getting Your Book Successfully Published,” at Stevenson High School, on Monday, April 29 from 7-9 p.m.

Two publishing industry insiders, national bestselling author Bret Nicholaus and literary agent Joe Durepos, will reveal how to successfully navigate the publishing world, including traditional publishing, self-publishing, and ebooks.

Bret Nicholaus is the author of 26 books, including two national bestsellers, The Conversation Piece and The Christmas Conversation Piece. He is published by three of the top six publishing houses, as well as self-published. Altogether, more than one million copies of his titles have been sold.

Joseph Durepos has 30 years experience in the book-publishing industry and has sold more than 150 titles as a literary agent. Many of the books he has agented have ended up on bestseller lists, including the New York Times list. He currently serves as acquisitions editor for Loyola Press.
