LATEST FIND HELP LAKE COUNTY GUIDE RELEASED: Call for Residents to 'Be a Link. Pass the Link'

Find Help Lake County contains over 1,400 health and human services available to Lake County residents and is also available at www.findhelplakecounty.org.

(LAKE COUNTY, IL- May 1, 2013)- “Be a Link. Pass the Link.” United Way of Lake County has declared this call to action for all Lake County residents to connect one another to needed health and human services available throughout the county with a print guide and online resource called Find Help Lake County.

United Way Lake County has recently released its newest print edition of Find Help Lake County, which contains over 1,400 health and human services available to Lake County residents.  These high-quality community resources cover a broad spectrum of concerns – from teen pregnancy to uninsured families to substance abuse and those living with domestic violence. However, the very people who could most benefit from these resources often do not know they even exist or how to find them.

Individuals, families and service providers are able to access www.FindHelpLakeCounty.org and search a database of health and human services provided by agencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week. “As of today, the website contains more than 1,000 agencies that have provided their information. This updated, easy-to-use resource goes a long way in providing help to those who need it,” said Kristi Long, President and CEO of United Way of Lake County.

United Way of Lake County also distributes an abbreviated version of the website for those without access to the internet. The updated 2013-2014 Find Help Lake County print guide will be made available to the public on a first come, first serve basis beginning May 23rd, 2013. Due to the limited number of guides being printed, United Way of Lake County requests that you place your order for guides through www.LIVEUNITEDlakecounty.org/orderfindhelp or by calling 847-775-1018.

With the launch of the new 2013-2014 Find Help Guide, United Way of Lake County has announced its “Be a Link. Pass the Link” campaign. From May 23rd to September 30th, local governments, schools, libraries, businesses, churches, neighborhood and service organizations are encouraged to participate in the “Be a Link. Pass the Link” campaign by posting a link to www.findhelplakecounty.org on their websites. Any organization that registers their link with United Way of Lake County via www.LIVEUNITEDlakecounty.org/bealink is eligible to enter a raffle to win $100 for their favorite charity.
