KeyLime Cove Community Days to Support United Way of Lake County

Get a day pass to KeyLime Cove's indoor waterpark for only $25...all proceeds benefit United Way of Lake County and Gurnee Police & Fire!

April 16, 2012 (Gurnee, IL) – KeyLime Cove and United Way of Lake County (UWLC) announce the launch of “Community Days,” a special limited-time promotion allowing the general public to enjoy some time in the fun-shine at the Lost Paradise Indoor Waterpark while raising money for community organizations at the same time.

Five thousand one-day tickets to KeyLime Cove’s Lost Paradise Waterpark, for $25 each, will be available starting Friday, March 30th. All proceeds will benefit United Way of Lake County, and the Gurnee Police and Fire Departments. Day passes are not available for KeyLime Cove except through the Community Days promotion. The spring Community Days passes can be used seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Usage dates run from Monday, April 16 through Friday, June 8, except for Memorial Day weekend, May 25-28. The resort is located at the northeast corner of I-94 and Grand Avenue (IL Route 132) in Gurnee near Gurnee Mills and Six Flags Great America.

“We’re pleased to offer our annual Community Days promotion so area residents can experience our indoor waterpark without having to stay overnight. The success of last year’s Community Days promotion showed us that our community is eager to experience KeyLime Cove and support the deserving nonprofit organizations that will benefit from the proceeds.” said Dale McFarland, general manager of KeyLime Cove. “We are excited to welcome new visitors to the waterpark and know they will have loads of fun on our water slides, on the Hurricane Vortex, and interacting with Toukie’s Big Deluge.”

The third Community Days promotion was held last spring, with nearly $66,000 in proceeds distributed to United Way of Lake County and other nonprofit partners. “We are honored that KeyLime Cove is partnering with us once again to raise funds in support of our community’s needs,” said Kristi Long, President and CEO of United Way of Lake County. “The tickets are a fantastic value for families, friends, co-workers, employees and groups. They even make great graduation gifts!” she added.

Community Days tickets may be ordered online at www.LIVEUNITEDlakecounty.org/keylimecove, at participating First Midwest Bank, Harris Bank, Libertyville Bank and Trust locations, as well as at United Way of Lake County and KeyLime Cove’s front desk. Adults must accompany children ages 16 and under and have a ticket, even if they are just chaperones. Children under age two do not require tickets. Food and beverages may not be brought in from the outside, but can be purchased at the resort. Ticket redemption is subject to daily occupancy restrictions, and KeyLime Cove reserves the right to deny entry based on capacity.

About United Way of Lake County:
United Way of Lake County (UWLC) is preparing our children to succeed in a changing world by focusing on education and building safe and stable families. Working with nonprofit agencies and community partners, we have identified four key programs to prepare children to succeed: Success By 6 Program – prepare for kindergarten; Reading Success Program – read at grade level; Stay in School Program – graduate high school; Safe and Stable Families Program – empowering families. UWLC is overcoming reading and educational barriers by reaching children, from preschool through high school, through these key programs. The overall effect and benefits are multiplied by the strong collaboration with agencies and our community partners.
