KeyLime Cove Community Days Raises Over $36,000 for Community Organizations!

KeyLime Cove's Community Days promotion raised over $36,000 for United Way of Lake County and the Gurnee Police and Fire Departments!

Gurnee, IL (06/18/12) – United Way of Lake County (UWLC) and KeyLime Cove wrapped up their fourth annual Community Days promotional event in June, raising $36,641 for community programs. During this limited-time promotion, the public was allowed to purchase $25 one-day passes to the Lost Paradise indoor waterpark, normally exclusive to guests of the resort. Proceeds from the tickets sales benefited United Way of Lake County and the Gurnee Police and Fire Departments.

A total of 1663 tickets were sold this year. UWLC will receive $18,320, the Gurnee Police Department will receive $9,160, and the Gurnee Fire Department will receive $9,160 for their community education programs. KeyLime Cove will host a reception and presentation of these funds to the community partners on Wednesday, June 27th at 5:30pm at KeyLime Cove’s Big Pine Key Banquet Room, at 1700 Nations Drive in Gurnee.

Since the first Community Days promotion began in 2009, over $217,000 has been raised for local community groups, including United Way of Lake County and the Gurnee Police and Fire Departments.

“We are so pleased to have this partnership with KeyLime Cove,” said Kristi Long, President and CEO of United Way Lake County. “The additional revenue that we receive from the Community Days event allows us to expand our current programs and make a greater impact for more children and families in our community.”

About United Way of Lake County:
United Way of Lake County (UWLC) is preparing our children to succeed in a changing world by focusing on education and building safe and stable families. Working with nonprofit agencies and community partners, we have identified four key programs to prepare children to succeed: Success By 6 Program – prepare for kindergarten; Reading Success Program – read at grade level; Stay in School Program – graduate high school; Safe and Stable Families Program – empowering families. UWLC is overcoming reading and educational barriers by reaching children, from preschool through high school, through these key programs. The overall effect and benefits are multiplied by the strong collaboration with agencies and our community partners. For more information, visit www.LIVEUNITEDlakecounty.org.
