Meritus Homes Sees Swift Sales at Ravenna of Long Grove

A year after starting sales at Ravenna of Long Grove Meritus Homes announces it is 70 percent sold in the community with just seven home sites remaining.

A year after starting sales at Ravenna of Long Grove, a community of 24 estate-style single-family homes in the Stevenson High School district, Deerfield-based Meritus Homes announces it is 70 percent sold in the community with just seven home sites remaining. Buyers can still choose from all six floor plans available in the community, including ranch, master-down and traditional two-story homes.

“We’ve been seeing some great sales momentum across all of our communities, which definitely validates all the positive news you hear about Chicago’s new-home market,” said Brian Brunhofer, president of Meritus Homes. “In fact, we just sold our last home at Creekside at Inverness Ridge, our other community in the northwest suburbs, and at Ravenna of Long Grove we’ve sold eight homes in the last three months alone. With the spring and summer market getting underway, and low housing inventory, we expect sales to continue at their current clip, which means interested buyers should act fast if they want a home in this community.”

Like many of Meritus’ other communities, Ravenna of Long Grove is an established community with portions developed by a previous builder and homeowners already in residence. Buyers have the choice of selecting a floor plan from Meritus Homes or bringing their own design or ideas to the table. Brunhofer noted that means buyers will be moving into a neighborhood with plenty of curbside variety and visual interest from home to home.

“There is nothing cookie cutter about Ravenna of Long Grove, from the array of homes already built to the customization options we offer,” said Brunhofer. “And buyers are really taking advantage of the variety of floor plans we have available – the homes we’ve sold in the community so far feature five of the six different home plans we offer.”

He added that Ravenna’s floor plans offer features and styles geared toward different lifestyles and family configurations. Floor plans measure from 2,610 to 3,918 square feet and feature three to four bedrooms, 2 to 3½ baths and an attached two- or three-car garage. Homes offer a variety of elevations featuring brick or stone work, and include gourmet kitchens; luxury master suites; full basements; dens; and two-story foyers, living and dining rooms, per plan. Prices start from $499,900.

One available plan is the Cavanaugh, a 3,271-square foot home with four bedrooms, including a first-floor master suite, 3½ baths and a split-bay three-car garage. It is priced from $524,900.

“Once the kids get a little older, some parents really want some privacy from the children’s bedrooms and like the idea of being on an entirely different level of the home,” said Brunhofer. “This layout also gives a lot of flexibility to multi-generation families or buyers who anticipate caring for older relatives in their home and want the option of single-level living.”

Upstairs, the Cavanaugh features three bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet and one with an en-suite bath. Buyers can also opt for an open loft area in lieu of one of the secondary bedrooms, which Brunhofer noted can serve as an ideal home office or flex space dedicated to kids.

“A lot of families like that they can create a place for an entire video game setup without having it be out in the open in the first-floor living space,” said Brunhofer. “And there’s plenty of floor space to make full use of motion-based games and gaming systems.”

Like all homes at Ravenna of Long Grove, the Cavanaugh includes a suite of high-end standard finishes such as a kitchen with hardwood flooring, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, 42-inch maple cabinetry, a pantry, double ovens and a preparation island and/or a breakfast/serving bar per plan. Other standard features include 10-foot first-floor ceilings, oak railings, and fully sodded and landscaped home sites, including trees and foundation plantings.

Buyers also have a variety of design options from which to choose to personalize their home, such as fireplaces, tray ceilings, deluxe laundry rooms, art niches and wet bars.

Ravenna’s location in Long Grove gives residents easy access to the area’s many recreational amenities, including the village’s historic downtown district with its specialty shops and eateries. Other nearby recreational amenities include Hawthorne Mall, The Cuneo Museum and Gardens, and the 36-acre Reed-Turner Woodland. Ravenna is served by acclaimed Stevenson High School.
