Oktoberfest Runs Aug. 17-19 in Buffalo Grove

Oktoberfest in August returns to Buffalo Grove this week as the Schwaben Verein of Chicago host their annual summer festival at the .

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday and runs until midnight. The festival continues from 2 p.m to midnight Saturday and from 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday. 

Oktoberfest in August features singing, dancing, German and domestic beer, bratwurst, live entertainment, rides, arcade games and raffles.

Admission is a $5 donation to Schwaben Verein of Chicago, and sponsors a youth soccer program. 

The entertainment schedule includes:

• Friday — Chef Dan and the Appetizers featuring Eddie V from the Eddie and Jobo show on 104.3 FM. from 7:30-11:30 p.m.
• Saturday — Traditional German music by theAlte Kameraden Band from 3-8 p.m. and a performance by Suburban Cowboys
• Sunday — Paloma from 1-3 p.m. and 3:30-7 p.m.; American English from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
