Nominations Sought for Buffalo Grove Days Parade Marshal

Nominees must be a resident, have positively contributed to the community and cannot be currently employed by the village.

Do you know someone who would make a perfect marshal for the in September? If so, the committee that organizes the event is seeking nominations now through June 30.

To be considered, nominees must be a resident of Buffalo Grove, have positively contributed to the community and not be currently employed by the village. 

Individuals who are retired from the village are eligible to be nominated.

“The marshal will get their chance in the spotlight as they lead the one-and-a-half miles of the parade; this is quite an honor for the chosen person(s) as this is the 54th year of Buffalo Grove Days,” said Paulette Greenberg, Buffalo Grove Days committee member.  

The winner’s name also will be published in the village newsletter as well as local media publications.

Submissions should include the nominee’s name, along with a short essay on why this person should be chosen as the Buffalo Grove Days parade marshal. 

Nominations can be emailed to bgdayparade@gmail.com.  

Village trustees will be forwarded the nominations and make the final decision.  The parade will be held Sunday, Sept. 2 during the five days of Buffalo Grove Days.
