Do you love the Buffalo Grove farmers market?

A national campaign supporting local farmers invites fans to put their money where their mouth is.

The American Farmland Trust’s I Love My Farmers Market Celebration encourages consumers to pledge to support family farmers by visiting www.lovemyfarmersmarket.org and signing an online pledge to spend $10 at their local farmers market.

“It is critical to ensure our nation’s farmland is protected,” Todd Gray, chef and spokeman for the Celebration said. “By taking the pledge to spend $10 at your local farmers market through the I Love My Farmers Market Celebration, you are helping to ensure that family farmers are able to stay on the land.

Up-to-the-minute state standings, as well as the top three markets celebrated in each state, are posted online

The Buffalo Grove farmers market runs from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sundays in front of the Spray N’ Play park.
