DAY CAMPS

Buffalo Grove Park District

Where: Alcott Center and at parks and schools across the village

Information: The Buffalo Grove Park District's summer camp offerings include programs for children ages 2 through eighth grade. Camps offer opportunities for sports, arts and crafts, field trips, games and more.

Vernon Township Summer Camp

Where: 16652 Buffalo Grove Road, Prairie View

Information: Vernon Township's camps serve children ages 4-7. Activities include arts and crafts, games, sports, singing and swimming.

Wheeling Park District

Where: 333 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling

Information: Camp programs are offered for children ages 3 through high school sophomores. Activities include games, crafts, sports, theme days and swimming. A Counselor-in-Training program is offered for older participants. Before- and after-camp programs are also available.

Discovery Day Camp

Information: Programs are available for children in preschool through eighth grade. Activities include swimming, fine arts, sports, nature programs and a ropes course.

Information: Camps are offered for children in preschool through eighth grade. Activities range from crafts, sports and natures programs to opportunities for overnight experiences.

Decoma Day Camp

Information: Decoma offers programs for children ages 3 to 13. Activities include swimming, crafts, dance, theme days, field trips and more. Specialty programs are offered for golf, horseback riding, tennis, tae kwon do and technology.

Banner Day Camp

Information: Structured activities are offered for campers ages 3 through 6th grade. A Campers in Transition program is available for campers who have completed seventh and eighth grades, and those who have finished their freshman year can participate in a Staff in Training program.

OVERNIGHT CAMP

Camp Chi

Where: 443 Munroe, Lake Delton, Wis.

Information: Jewish youths ready for an extended camp adventure need to look no further than the JCC's (Jewish Community Center Chicago) Camp Chi, which offers programs for male and female campers in fourth to 11th grades. Activities include horseback riding and water sports.
