Buffalo Grove Stampede is Sunday

Register for the race, and review the race route, which will cause road closures the morning of Sept. 2.

The 's Friends of the Parks Foundation will host its annual 5K and 10K race, the Buffalo Grove Stampede, on the morning of Sept. 2. The race begins and ends at Mike Rylko Community Park near the entrance.

The is a Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) certified race. The 10K race is also part of the CARA circuit. More information about CARA can be found on its website.

The race will start at 8 a.m. and conclude around 10 a.m. Several streets will be closed to traffic during this race, including McHenry Road (Route 83) between Deerfield Parkway and Buffalo Grove Road, Checker Drive, Old Checker Road, Arlington Heights Road, Schaeffer Road and Springside Lane.
