Stevenson Girls Help Hockey Team Achieve State Title

The Lake Forest girls hockey team took the Blackhawk Cup with a 2-0 win over Fenwick.

Fierce defense and flawless goaltending made the difference as the Lake Forest girls hockey team won its second Blackhawk Cup state championship in three years defeating Fenwick, 2-0, Sunday on United Center ice.

Scout goaltender Lindsay Projansky, of Stevenson High School, had 12 saves on her way to shutting out the Friars but gave plenty of credit to her teammates for not letting Fenwick get too many good shots. “They did a great job of keeping it out of our zone and giving them side shots,” she said of her teammates.

Other players from Stevenson include Sami Schechter and Theresa Shanley.
