Patriots’ Star Performer: After nearly three and one-half quarters, Stevenson put together its best drive of the night, with quarterback Matt Micucci finding Anthony Bozin for a 17-yard TD strike. Micucci added the extra point to bring Stevenson within 10-7 and 2:10 left to play in the North Suburban Conference game. With Lake Forest containing running back Kevin Foley (20 carries, 67 yards), Micucci hit 12 of 25 passes for 147 yards and 1 TD.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Stevenson's defense stopped Lake Forest on all but the two occasions when the Scouts scored - a 40-yard field goal in the first half and a fourth quarter screen pass for a 26-yard TD. The Scouts were limited to 67 yards rushing, sacked Lake Forest quarterback Jordan Beck twice and recorded seven tackles for losses led by Arthur Polk's three.

Who’s Next: Stevenson (4-2, 3-1) hosts Lake Zurich at 7 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 6). The game is Thursday due to the Jewish holiday on Friday. Lake Zurich (5-1) dominated Libertyville, 31-6, for its fourth straight win.

The Bottom Line: Stevenson's Matt Micucci missed a 32-yard field goal with 2:10 left to play, leaving the Patriots short in their bid to remain unbeaten in North Suburban Conference play. No rest ahead. A short week is complicated by having to face Lake Zurich, which is on a roll after a loss in Week 2. The Patriots need to re-establish their running game, which managed just 39 yards against a Lake Forest defense that recorded five sacks and 12 tackles for lost yardage.
