Shake Your Groove Thing and Help Feed the Hungry! Dance-A-Thon Supports Vernon Township Food Pantry

Matt Kuhlman, founder of The Sweatshop, is hosting a charity Dance-A-Thon at the Max Training Center in Buffalo Grove (355 Hastings Drive) on Sunday, April 10th.  For one hour only (11:00 am to noon), the entire family is invited to shake it up with Matt and help feed the hungry.

“I've always known that if I was ever fortunate enough to be in a position to give back to the community that I grew up in, I would take full advantage of it,” said Matt, a personal fitness trainer who grew up in Buffalo Grove and graduated from Stevenson High School.

“When I opened The Sweatshop last year, my goal was to help get people into the best shape of their lives,” he continues. “At The Sweatshop, success is not only measured by the scale, but it’s also measured by helping people get from where they are today to where they want to be,” he adds.  “With that in mind, I believe it’s our responsibility, as a local business and as a community, to lend a hand to those less fortunate. Our Dance-A-Thon is one simple way that we can all give back.”

There is no entrance fee for the Dance-A-Thon, which supports the Vernon Township Food Pantry.  In order to participate, Matt is asking that each person bring one non-perishable food item.  Doors open at 10:30 am for registration, and the 60-minute Dance-A-Thon begins at 11:00 am. All fitness levels are welcome.

“We’re going to have a great time dancing and working out together,” says Matt, who hopes that parents will bring their kids, and that kids will invite their friends. “The Dance-A-Thon is absolutely family friendly and will be fun for everyone,” he says.  “I’ve got great music that will get everyone moving, and we’ll burn loads of calories along the way!”

“Not only will we feel good about doing something for ourselves and for our health, but we’ll feel really good knowing that we are helping others who need our support,” says Matt.  “I’m hoping for a full house!”
