Buffalo Grove Native Wins Gold at Maccabiah Games

A Buffalo Grove native brought home the gold in the still rings competition at the 2013 Maccabiah Games held in Israel last month, the Daily Herald reports.

Mike Wilner, a 2011 Stevenson High School graduate, scored 15.45 in the gymnastics contest, beating out the rest of the international competition. Wilner is now a member of the University of Illinois men’s gymnastics team, according to the newspaper. 

The Maccabiah Games are held every four years in Israel to foster athletic competition among the Jewish community around the world.
