The Do’s and Don'ts of a Car Wrap

A car wrap can be an excellent way to generate interest in your business. It’s essentially a mobile billboard, advertising your business everywhere you go.  In order to maximize both the effectiveness and value of a car wrap, it needs to be cared for properly. Proper care includes washing technique, where to store your car and the best way to handle repairs.

Frequent washings are one of the best ways to keep your car wrap looking its best. They are also a good way to prevent wear to your wrap. Just like the body of a car, things like salt and dirt can damage your wrap if left unchecked. It’s important to note that while a wrap can withstand a car wash, hand washing is the far superior method. This is because car washes have the potential to scratch your wrap. A hand wash assures proper care and should be done at least on a monthly basis for best results.

Small scratches are merely cosmetic issues but deeper ones can damage your car if they are not properly repaired. Sun damage is just a fact of owning a car wrap. It is unavoidable, but it can be minimized. If at all possible and especially during peak sun hours, park in a garage. Parking in a garage instead of outside also means that your vehicle is not exposed to other damaging elements. If you have to park outside, don't be afraid of a little walk if it means you get a shady parking spot.
