Sid Mathias Tells Personal Family Story

Over the past week, the Sid Mathias campaign has been telling Sid's personal family story throughout the 59th district.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL – Over the past week, the Sid Mathias campaign has been telling Sid’s personal family story throughout the 59th district. A TV ad (can be viewed here) began airing throughout the district, and two mailers were sent to 59th District voters (can be viewed here and here). In addition, Sid Mathias released the following statement:

“It is important for voters to know where the candidates come from because who we are will shape how we vote in Springfield. My family was raised to be grateful to live in this incredible country and state, and to give back to our community in order to show that gratitude. I have strived to do that through serving my neighbors in local government.

“My father literally carried bulls on his back, working in the Chicago Stockyards to build a better life for my family. His hard work allowed me to go off to college and law school, and after graduating in 6 years I put what I learned to use working to better our community. I’ve sought to carry on my late father’s legacy by instilling in my children the same work ethic and heart for volunteering, even taking them with me as we drove through neighborhoods discussing the various requests while I served on the Buffalo Grove Zoning Board.

“I work full-time for the people I represent, with my only goal to better the lives of the people in our wonderful community. I have a history of standing up to the political insiders, special interests and Party bosses when necessary, and working across the aisle with both Republicans and Democrats in order to make progress. It is the greatest honor of my life to be able to serve my community as State Representative.”
