Coached by teachers Adam Greenberg and Larry Simonis, wrestlers claimed another Patriot Athletic Conference Championship, outscoring their opponents by more than 200 points.
The team then participated on Feb. 25 in their first-ever IESA state regional tournament, where seven Twin Groves wrestlers qualified for sectional competition.
Second-place finishers in stiff regional competition included Gabe Oriatti and Benjie Woods. Wrestlers Ben Ruksakiati, Byron Colindres, Jeremy Warren, Jeremy Klaber and Josh Dahl finished fourth. These athletes will represent Twin Groves at sectionals at Lake Zurich South.
