Stevenson Wins Regional Jefferson Award

Students will compete nationally in June.

received the Outstanding Service by a High School award at the Jefferson Awards Students in Action Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana competition in April.

The award, which Stevenson also received last year, was given based on accomplishments in service and volunteerism. More than 50 schools contended for regional honors at the event.

Stevenson also was one of two school districts to receive a Gold Service Leadership banner.

Stevenson’s Jefferson Awards Students In Action student leaders Cole Deloye, Kayla Reinherz, Brady Richter, Lainie Fox, Greg Schultheis, Neha Rao, Danielle Marks and Andelyn Russell presented an overview of the school’s community service efforts at the competition.

In June, students will attend the Jefferson Awards national ceremonies in Washington, D.C., to compete for the national Outstanding Service by a High School Jefferson Award.
