“No words can express this loss. Today is such a tragic day. Dana was such a beautiful and sweet girl. She will never be forgotten. She will always be in our hearts. We have lost such a great friend, but heaven has a gained a wonderful angel. ♥,” wrote an administrator of the page.

The Facebook page encouraged fans to wear pink to school Monday (April 1), which is the first day of class following spring break.

Dana’s friends are also remembering her on Twitter, where they are expressing their grief and honoring her memory.

“The absolute hardest thing to deal with is knowing the last time you saw her, is the last time [you’ll] ever see her...” one person wrote.

Freshman Jonah Rawitz posted on YouTube an original song, “All That You Were,” which he dedicated to Dana. (See attached video.)

Stevenson High School spokesman Jim Conrey said Dana played on the freshman/sophomore girls lacrosse team this year and last.

Counselors will be available throughout the day Monday and Tuesday for anyone who wants to talk, Conrey said. The school is also encouraging students and staff members who knew Dana to attend her service Tuesday, which takes place during the school day.

The service will begin at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Temple Chai. Interment will be in Shalom Memorial Park.

Dana’s family requests donations to Out of the Darkness, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in lieu of flowers.
