's varsity cheerleading squad received first place at the Stevenson High School cheerleading competition in December. The squad went on to place second in the Shepard High School (Palos Heights) competition qualifying them for the State competition (Illinois Coaches Cheerleading Association, ICCA) in Springfield on Feb. 11. Last week, the competitive cheer team placed second out of 20 teams for small cheer division at the Illinois Elementary School Association State Competition in Peoria.
