Lipkin Secures Summer Research Opportunity

Buffalo Grove resident plays a role in Parkinson's research.

Galina Lipkin Buffalo Grove was selected as a Richter Scholar at Lake Forest College.

The Richter Apprentice Scholar Program offers a unique research opportunity to a small group of outstanding students early in their college careers. During the summer between their first and second years, Richter Scholars are employed for 10 weeks as apprentice scholars working one-on-one with faculty members conducting independent research.

Lipkin, a member of the Class of 2015, worked in Professor Shubhik DebBurman's laboratory to further research Parkinson's disease by examining the role of seven hypothetically important amino acids.
