The Stevenson High School Diversity Council's annual celebration of international culture, World’s Fair, will be held Saturday and Sunday, January 22-23. The event runs in the West Building each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an entertainment showcase in the Performing Arts Center from 3 to 4 p.m. both days. Admission is free. World's Fair also is sponsored by the Stevenson High School Community Foundation.
World’s Fair offers a chance for students at Stevenson to showcase either a country of their own heritage, or simply a culture in which they have some interest. Students create booths in which they can use their creativity to provide information about the countries they have selected. India, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, Columbia and Ireland are among the countries that will be highlighted. Students also will perform acts related to their countries during the entertainment showcase.
World's Fair also serves as a charity fund-raiser for Diversity Council. Last year, the event raised more than $3,000.
