Congressman Robert Dold will visit Stevenson High School and join the Illinois chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council in honoring SHS for becoming the first public school in the country to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold-level certification for existing buildings.
The LEED award ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. in Room 2104 of the school's West Building. Dold is scheduled to speak at 6:20 p.m.
LEED is a certification program that is the national benchmark for design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.
