District 214 Special Education Workshops for Parents

Township High School District 214 and the Illinois State Board Parent and Educator Partnership are offering this two-part workshop for parents of special education students.

Part 1, IDEA and the IEP, will be presented by District 214's Parent Advisory Council and Student Services on February 15 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the Theater of the Forest View Educational Center. Parents will receive information to help them better understand the IDEA-Individuals with Disabilities Education Act- and how it applies to an IEP-Individualized Education Program.

The second workshop, "Parent Involvement in the IEP", will be on March 8 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in Room D100 at the Forest View Educational Center. Parents will learn how to communicate more effectively in their children's IEP meetings.
