CCSD21 State of the Schools

Each fall, District 21 hosts its annual State of the Schools meetings. There are three meetings – one at each of the middle schools. Parents and community members are invited to attend any of these meetings.

This year, the State of the Schools event continues to evolve. First, each evening will begin with a performance by middle school musicians from School District 21. Then, Dr. Kate Hyland, Superintendent of School District 21, will present a video reviewing the District's successes as a Professional Learning Community. Following that, District 21 will host a presentation on the harmful effects of bullying as well as what can be done to disrupt such social interactions. Dr. Dorothy Espelage, a professor of Child Development at the University of Illinois, is a national leader on research in bullying. She has published several books and presented at the state, national, and international levels, and she works to support parents in helping their children.

Babysitting is also provided by each middle school. If you require babysitting for that evening, please call 847-520-2728 and record the date you plan to attend, the number of children you will be bringing, and their ages.
