District 214 Musicians Chosen for All-State Music Festival

Buffalo Grove and Wheeling high school students will compete in Peoria.

Twenty-six District 214 students have been selected among the finest high school musicians in the state to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) All-State Festival on Jan. 25-28 in Peoria.

All-State participants include:

— senior Ryan Toher, Orchestra (Bb Clarinet); seniors Mackenzie Logan, Vocal Jazz Ensemble (Bass) and Brandon Sokol (Bass); and junior Joe Gruzinsky, Band (Tuba). Buffalo Grove music teachers are Edward Jacobi (Band), Debora Utley (Choir), and Elizabeth Bennett (Orchestra).

— senior Jennifer Garbarz, Orchestra (viola), and juniors Chelsie Coren (Bb Clarinet) and Kylie Gember (Flute). Wheeling music teachers are Brian Logan (Band), Kirstin Snelten (Choir) and Alex Meza (Orchestra).
