District 214 Holds Winter, Spring Parenting Classes

All area parents are invited to attend.

Registration for District 214's winter/spring lecture and discussion series, "What Every Parent Should Know," is open to all interested area parents. The three-part course will be offered twice during the second semester of the current 2011-12 school year.

Session I will take place on three consecutive Tuesdays: Feb. 14, 21, and 28. Session II will be offered on Tuesdays, April 10, 17, and 24, from 7-9 p.m. at John Hersey High School, 1900 E. Thomas St., Arlington Heights.

Raising children is a formidable task that takes patience, understanding and perseverance. District 214 is committed to not only educating students but also helping parents navigate and respond appropriately to their children's growth and development. These sessions will help parents anticipate and prevent problems proactively, develop mutually respectful relationships, explore fair discipline, maintain effective communication, and use productive problem-solving methods with their children.
