School District 103 Board members directed the administration Aug. 13 to abate the debt service extension for 2014. This action will reduce the overall taxes for School District 103 taxpayers by approximately $350,000, the district said in a statement. The change will also be reflected in the district's fiscal year 2014 budget.
The School Board is expected to vote Sept. 3 on the 2014 budget in addition to the teachers contract. The teachers union ratified the agreement Aug. 21.
