District 102 Honors Retiring Board Member
Jeff Newman served on the School Board for 20 years.
honored Jeff Newman last week for 20 years of service to the School Board.
Fellow Board members, former superintendents, teachers, parents and staff attended to bid him farewell. Previous superintendents Doug Parks and Jon Mink, along with the current Superintendent Theresa Dunkin expressed their appreciation for Newman's financial stewardship and commitment to the community and the education of children.
Board members Ellyn Ross, Steve Lefar and Alan Rubenstein were also sworn in at last week's meeting. The 2011 board officers are Gary Friedlander, president; Ellyn Ross, vice president; Pelleg Graupe, secretary; and Joan Koriath, Lefar, Lenny Ostach and Rubenstein as members at large.
