Buffalo Grove Outside Hitter Paige Smith to Play Volleyball at Augustana

Smith joins a Viking program that owns a pair of College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin championships and has produced one CCIW Player of the Year and four CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

Paige Smith, a senior and two-sport athlete at , will continue her education and athletic career at Augustana. She plans on enrolling this fall and joining coach Jamie Walters’ Viking volleyball program.

Smith is a 5’ 9” outside hitter who earned three varsity volleyball letters for coach Marianne O’Shea at Buffalo Grove. As a senior, she was a Bison co-captain and earned All-Mid-Suburban League honors as well as all-area honorable mention from the Daily Herald.

During her senior season, Smith recorded 162 kills, 10 solo blocks and 107 digs. She had a .877 serve percentage with nine aces. As a junior, she had 112 digs and a .913 serve percentage with 24 aces.

Smith also competes at the club level for Top Flight Volleyball and coach Kyle McCall and lettered twice as a midfielder in coach Pat Dudle’s Bison soccer program.

Smith is the daughter of Jamie Smith of Buffalo Grove. She is an honor roll student who has participated in chorus and show choir. In addition, she has volunteered with several organizations including the Special Olympics. She is planning to major in pre-physical therapy at Augustana.
