Chicagoland's Premier Chanukah Kid's Paradise is Back for 3rd Year!

SAJE's Third Annual Chanukah Family Funland to Attact 1000+ Jewish Kids from Across Chicagoland to Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove, IL (November 15, 2013) - Not since 1861, 152 years ago, has November 28th been both Thanksgiving day and the first day of Chanukah. In actuality it's not even true, as Thanksgiving wasn't established until 1868. The next time the two dates coincide isn't until the year 79,811! For America's Jewish folks this means two of the year's most eagerly-anticipated times of celebration will happen simultaneously as a once in a lifetime event -- perfect timing for the third annual Chanukah Family Funland. Chanukah Family Funland is an oasis of fantastic fun for Chicagoland's Jewish children of all ages. The amazing coinciding of dates has kids off school for a good part of the last week of this month and Funland is the ideal destination for the whole family. Opening Wednesday, November 27th, 2013, this special four-day event will run through Thursday, November, 28th, Friday, November 29th and Sunday, December 1st.
Chanukah Family Funland boasts four jam-packed days of amusement and entertainment that has been the hub of Chicagoland's Chanukah festivities since 2011. This year, Funland will launch two new additions to its lineup; the Chanukah Dairy Cafe' and a special Chanukah Game Night for Adults, Saturday evening, November 30th. Back this year by popular demand will beFunland's exciting shows, Chanukah themed carnival games, fun and educational arts and crafts, face-painting, a family portrait studio, giveaways and contests. Whether for one day or all four, all who attend will experience a Chanukah celebration that will leave them with exceptional Jewish pride and joy.
Rabbi Eliezer Grunberg and his wife Sarala, co-directors of SAJE, Suburban Alliance of Jewish Education, and the masterminds behind Chanukah Family Funland spent substantial time researching, executing and building the actual eye-catching and engaging Chanukah-themed activities at Funland. Mrs. Grunberg shared, "We had seen something similar in another state and thought to ourselves, we HAVE to provide something even more awesome for the kids of Chicagoland during this exciting and joyous time of the year!" Several months later with the help of their SAJE co-directors, Rabbi Shimon and Mrs. Elisa Zehnwirth and several generous volunteers, Chanukah Family Funland was born Chanukah 2011. This year's new additions should see attendance up substantially during the four day event.
Sarah D., a Funland attendee and mom from the northwestern suburbs said, "Our 3 1/2 year old had a total blast at Chanukah Family Funland. He begged us to go back another day and even got the same face paint!" She added, "I was mesmerized by the incredible bubble show, I'd never seen anything like it. I hired him for our son's birthday party. These people think of everything!" She says she'll definitely be back with her son, husband and several friends this year.
Chanukah Family Funland's four days of festivities will take place in the Buffalo Grove Town Center, 144 McHenry Rd.
