Saint Mary Announces Lynde as New Athletic Director

Principal Nicole Raftery is pleased to announce the appointment of the new Saint Mary Athletic Director, Mr. Casey Lynde.

Principal Nicole Raftery is pleased to announce the appointment of the new Saint Mary Athletic Director, Mr. Casey Lynde.  In this role,
Lynde will oversee Saint Mary’s 10 athletic sports, as well as the athletic
facilities.

A native of Buffalo Grove, IL Lynde spent his grade schools years attending St. Mary School.  He participated in the football and basketball programs at Saint Mary playing both Jr. Varsity and Varsity.  Upon graduation he attended St. Viator High School, Arlington Heights, IL and is a graduate of the University Wisconsin, Madison.  He currently teaches 7th & 8th grade Math at Saint Mary and is working on his master’s degree in teaching.

Lynde is no stranger to athletics having participated at the elementary and high school levels and many sports throughout his college and post college years.  This experience puts him in a unique position as he has personally seen and participated in organized sports programs of all levels.  His strong history with Saint Mary athletics made him a favored candidate.  His father was a football coach at St. Mary before Lynde played, during his playing years and for many years following his graduation. You may say athletics is in his blood; his mother is an avid golfer and played women’s softball for many years.  His younger
brother currently plays football for Carmel High School.

Lynde hopes to “continue the great traditions of Saint Mary Athletics and keep the current athletic programs strong and growing “.  The current cross country team, coached by Karl Kempf has had an unprecedented year thus far with boys and girls finishing meets in the top ten of a field sometime comprised of 200.
The Jr. Varsity and Varsity football teams both finished their first games with big wins the weekend of Sept. 15, 2012.  The girl’s competitive cheer continually
qualifies for the IRCA State Championships and there is no reason to expect
different for this year. Congratulations to Mr. Casey Lynde and best of luck through the year.
