Village Sends Itself a Birthday Card

Buffalo Grove marked its 55th year with a reception and a proclamation.

As 1950s music played in the background, Buffalo Grove residents and leaders gathered last week to celebrate the village's 55th year.

Displays with old photos from Alcott School — now known as the Buffalo Grove Park District's Alcott Center — and the village showcased Buffalo Grove's past, while handouts touting the village's present sat nearby.

Of course, no party would be complete without treats. Sweets were served at the March 4 gathering, which was immediately followed by a Village Board meeting. During the meeting, Village President Jeff Braiman read a proclamation recognizing the village's milestone.
