VIDEO: Nekritz, Greenberg to Face off in 57th District Race

State Rep. Elaine Nekritz (D-57th) will be challenged by Republican Jonathan Greenberg in the November election. The two shared some of their thoughts at a June 5 forum in Buffalo Grove.

The two candidates for the 57th House District race met last week at a forum conducted by the .

Pension reform, the state budget, a state-wide ban on mobile devices in cars and slot machines at race tracks were among the subjects addressed by State Rep. Elaine Nekritz and challenger Jonathan Greenberg.

"It's always been my goal in the legislature to do things in a different way than they tradionally have been done. And that is really a solution-oriented approach, trying to address the problems that we have," Nekritz said.

"Illinois used to be a place that they wrote songs and poems about ... today they write jokes about us. We used to be nationally known for our work ethic. We used to be nationally known as a place where great companies were. Now we're known for our incompetence, our mismanagement and our corruption," Greenberg said. "Those are things that have to change."
