Stevenson 'Can Do Better'

We have lived in Long Grove for over 10 years, and all three of our children have attended Stevenson High School. In general my wife and I have been pleased with their education. However, we can do better. Stevenson's total annual expenditures have INCREASED over 16% since 2006, while enrollment has DECREASED 3.5% for the same period! In addition, Stevenson has slipped from it's top tier performance level. I am supporting the new candidates (Powell, Brady, Cardella) because "The Club" (current incumbents) have not been good stewards.

In addition, I have seen blatant falsehoods and misrepresentations that have been spread by "the Club." I even  know of students from Stevenson repeating these stories! The tall tales range from "the new guys will fire teachers because of their sexual orientation" (a lie), to "they will disband student clubs" (another lie), to "they want to censor/ban books" (yet another lie).  There is an old adage, that goes along the lines of "if you can't argue the position, attack the person." I am quite sure there will be even more mud promulgated from "The Club" in the near future, the last thing they want to talk about is their  record.
