Sirabian's 'Character Speaks for Itself'

Letter to the editor

Hasn’t the Village of Buffalo Grove had enough embarrassment lately?

Now Rob Sherman is trying to discredit long-time Village Clerk Jan Sirabian in his bid for the position (a job he has stated on his website he doesn’t actually want).

His leading campaign issue is that in 30 years of Jan’s service, one record of a meeting was lost. The real key to this campaign is the character of the individuals.  When confronted with the loss of the record, Jan publicly took responsibility for it. In contrast, Sherman has served two jail sentences and rather than acknowledge personal responsibility he implied a government conspiracy against him was to blame. In fact, the judge handling his case is quoted in the Chicago Reader as admonishing Sherman about his refusal to accept responsibility for his actions. He sent the message to Sherman that he was blaming everyone except the person really responsible; Sherman himself.

Now ask yourself, don’t we have enough politicians eager to pass the buck? Jan Sirabian has passionately served Buffalo Grove for 30 years and wants to continue to enthusiastically serve this village and instill that passion in others. Her character speaks for itself. We strongly recommend Jan Sirabian for Village Clerk.

Sincerely,
