Reconstruction Under Way at Melting Pot Site

The fondue restaurant has been leveled, making way for Noodles and Co. and Moe's Southwest Grill.

building was demolished last week, bringing redevelopment plans one step further on the southwest corner of Dundee and Arlington Heights roads.

Construction of a building that will is scheduled to begin this fall, but dishes likely won’t be served until spring, said Ghida Neukirch, Buffalo Grove’s deputy village manager.

Noodles and Co. and Moe’s Southwest Grill will occupy two of the spaces. The property owner has not yet found a third tenant, Neukirch said.

Moe’s, a Mexican restaurant with a location in Deer Park, is “very popular,” Neukirch said. “I think they’ll be a great addition to our area."

Demolition of The Melting Pot took place later than expected due to delays in obtaining state and county permits, she said. Construction crews will get as much done as possible before winter begins, she said.
