Passes for Buffalo Grove Metra Lot to Increase $10

Commuters can expect to pay more in 2014 to park in the Metra lot.

Prices will be going up to park in the Metra parking lot in Buffalo Grove. The village board recently approved a $10 increase for a bi-monthly parking pass.

The fee will increase to $60, according to the Chicago Tribune. It is expected to begin Jan. 1. The village also awarded a $62,000 contract for automated fare boxes to Total Parking Solutions, the report stated.

Buffalo Grove's Metra train station is the mid-point on the North Central line, which runs from Antioch to Union Station.

This increase is expected to generate approximately $18,000 annually in revenue for the village, according to the Chicago Tribune.
