Learn about Voting at Sept. 24 Event

Attendees will be able to register to vote, learn about the candidates and receive information about voting options at the Vernon Area Public Library.

Lake County Clerk Willard Helander will visit the from 1-2 p.m. Sept. 24 to discuss voting options and prepare residents for the upcoming election. Voter registration will also be available, just in time for the Oct. 9 deadline for this year’s election.

Helander will share the online Voter Power tool that provides personalized voting information for every eligible voter in Lake County. Voter Power provides detailed information about the elected officials, voting locations, types of ballots, and numerous voting options, including those for the disabled.

The program will highlight how redistricting will impact Lake County residents in the November election, as well as how residents can get involved as a volunteer or election judge.

This event is free and open to all. Registration is recommended. Register in person at the Vernon Area Public Library, by telephone at (224) 543-1485, or online at calendar.vapld.info.
