Shanes Wins Judge Race, Braiman Remains Mayor

Unofficial vote tallies show Judge Daniel Shanes won the race by just over 3,000 votes.

Early votes and mail-in votes have now been tallied. They are included in the chart below. Shanes is ahead of Braiman by more than 3,000 votes. The totals do not include provisional ballots or late-arriving mail-in ballots.

With all Lake County precincts reporting, Judge Daniel Shanes is the apparent winner in the race for the 19th Judicial Circuit, 3rd Subcircuit.

Election-day results show Shanes took 55 percent of the vote. He received 16,583 votes to Jeff Braiman's 13,345.

The numbers do not take into account early votes, mail-in votes or provisional votes.

Buffalo Grove Village President Jeff Braiman is challenging Judge Daniel Shanes in Lake County's 19th Judicial Circuit, 3rd Subcircuit.

The 3rd Subcircuit includes portions of Buffalo Grove, Grayslake, Hawthorn Woods, Indian Creek, Kildeer, Libertyville, Long Grove, Mundelein and Vernon Hills.

If Braiman is elected judge, he will step down from his village president position.
