Brothers Honored for Saving Passengers from Fiery Crash

Ken and Daniel Hechtman were recognized for their heroic efforts Sept. 9 by the Buffalo Grove officials.

Two brothers from Buffalo Grove received commendations this week for their work in saving the lives of three people who were caught in a fiery crash.

Ken Hechtman and Daniel Hechtman were honored by Buffalo Grove Village President Jeff Braiman for the selflessness and bravery they displayed one April night when they happened upon a crash involving a semi-truck and a car carrying a mother and her young daughter.

The Hectmans, Braiman said, "[serve] as role models for all Buffalo Grove residents" through their actions that night and their ongoing efforts to raise money for two victims of the crash.
