Give Your Input on Solid Waste
If you've ever wanted to know what happens to your solid waste once it leaves your house, or have an idea of how the future of handling solid waste can be improved, then you'll want to head to one of three upcoming community meetings.
Buffalo Grove officials are encouraging residents to attend one of a handful of upcoming meetings about the future of solid waste programs in the area, according to a release on the village's website. The village is part of the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC), an intergovernmental agency comprised of 23 member communities that handles waste before it is recycled, reused or sent to a landfill.
SWANCC is updating its Solid Waste Management Plan to guide the Agency and members in future waste management practices. As part of this process, SWANCC is seeking input from elected officials, municipal staff, and the public. The Agency will host a series of meetings to discuss current community and Agency programs, satisfaction with existing services, and interest in future programs. The meetings will be held:
Tuesday September 10, 2013, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Oakton Community College Skokie Campus (7701 North Lincoln Avenue, Skokie, IL 60077)
