Property Tax Appeal Seminar for Taxpayers

Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak is hosting two seminars that will be offered to residents in the village Buffalo Grove seeking to appeal their 2011 property tax assessments.

Along with the participation of local elected officials, the Board of Review hopes that the seminars will educate taxpayers on how to file a successful tax appeal in a time when the economy is putting added pressures on home and business owners.

The hour-long session will include a presentation by Commissioner Patlak that will help taxpayers understand how property taxes are calculated and explain the appeal procedure of the Board of Review. Before the end of the evening, taxpayers will have an opportunity to work with analysts from the Board of Review to address their specific questions.
