Dold Addresses Library Volunteers

Congressman emphasizes the importance of community service.

Rep. Robert Dold (R-10th) was the keynote speaker April 11 at the 's volunteer recognition luncheon. More than 70 volunteers were recognized for their service during the past year on the Library Board, Friends of the Library, Foundation for the Indian Trails Public Library, Children’s Advocates and for work on specific library programs.

Dold commented that through his past volunteer work with the Boy Scouts he learned first-hand the importance of volunteerism. Without their time and effort, the achievements of non-profits would not be possible. He noted that the library’s contribution to this community is great. But without volunteer help, the neighborhood and the country would not be what it is today.

Other speakers included Library Board President Gene Looft and Prospect Heights Mayor Dolores Vole.
