Why are you running for a Village Board position?

Being a Board Member is a natural progression from my position on the Plan Commission and my 25 years of experience in commercial real estate and development.

What are the key issues that the village will have to address in the next four years?

1. Improving our retail and restaurant presence;
2. Housing mixture from senior housing to housing affordable for younger families
to stay in our Village;
3. Working with developers to find appropriate uses and developments for our
vacant parcels;
4. Small business owners and challenges in the marketplace

What are your top three goals as a board member?

Assist our small business owners to remain in our Village and utilize my real estate background to find suitable developers for our vacant properties and re-merchandise/reposition our current developments. Also, I will work to promote and encourage resident and volunteer participation in our current programs and develop new programs.

What are some of the village’s strengths?

Our Village is a great place it is to live with our tree lined streets and beautiful parks, we are very strong financially and we have a great sense of community.

What do you think can be done to improve the village?

Our Village is already a great place, but having a true downtown area where people gather on a regular basis would be nice.

What distinguishes you from the rest of the Village Board members?

I have been a volunteer on the Plan Commission for almost 11 years, I was a part of the team which revised the Appearance Review Guide and I am a part of the Appearance Review Team (ART), I have been in Real Estate Development/ Property Management for about 25 years and I am a small business owner. I have also lived in Buffalo Grove for about 16 years.
