Credit Cards Now Accepted for Water Bill Payments

Buffalo Grove introduced last week its online payment option for water bills.

Buffalo Grove residents now have the option of paying their water bills online.

Residents can log into their water accounts by visiting the E-Services page on the village’s website, and then clicking Water/Sewer Online Payments. To log in, residents will need to enter their water account number as well as their name as it appears on their bill.

Through the website, they will be able to view their account balance, recent activity, a water consumption analysis and an option to pay their bills by credit card. Those who pay by credit card will be charged a $2 fee to cover the transaction.

The site also allows residents to opt out of paper bills or to choose both paper and e-bill notices.

The village rolled out its e-billing system April 12, Finance Director Scott Anderson said. As of Monday, two customers had already paid their bills via credit card, he said.

Residents will be notified of the new payment option in their next water bills. Customers can still pay by automatic debit withdrawal with no service fee.
