Candidate Packets Available for March General Primary Election

If you're thinking about running for election in 2014, here's what you need to know.

Lake County established political party candidates for the March 2014 primary may print courtesy petition packets online at LakeCandidatePower.info or obtain copies at the Lake County Clerk's office until Dec. 2. The petition circulation period is Sept. 3 to Dec. 2.

In signing PA 98-0115 to enact online voter registration, the Governor cited the need "to move forward as quickly as we can with the election bill itself, especially online voter registration. We've got to get that ready for next year."

Offices to be nominated at the General Primary Election include County Clerk, Sheriff, Treasurer, Regional Superintendent of Schools, County Board Members Districts 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 17 and 19, and North Shore Sanitary Trustees Districts 3 and 5. Precinct Committeemen for the two major political parties and City of Lake Forest Aldermen will be elected at the General Primary Election.
